Your apartment is so Boss
UW student invites Bruce up for a beer; Bruce accepts.
As she surveyed the apartment with its mismatched chairs and sofas, stray clothes and faint, lingering odor of beer common to off-campus student living, roommate Erin Prendergast remarked "I wish we cleaned the house more."

The Sweetest Triumph of All
And wow. Talk about sour grapes. Most NY papers sound subdued, but the Times Herald-Record in Middletown, NY has a page of the Red Sox mobbing each other with the headline beneath:
It's okay, Yankee fans. You may have the titles, but you'll never match the sweet triumph. :)

NY Daily News: Yanks Cursing
It's more fun, more revealing, to read the loser's home newspaper after a big loss and what bigger losers are there this morning than the N.Y. Yankees? Boston exposed the Cardinals for what they really are, pretenders with no front-line pitching. They were Anaheim of a couple years ago....quirks. The real losers today are the Yankees. They were the ones sitting up 3 games to none, a mere three outs from what would have been yet another freaking Yankee championship and they blew it. One of the Daily News's headlines, not online, was just about the only thing New Yorkers could say today: "See You in 2090!" Pathetic, no? What glorious fun.

SBC will pay $1 million for naming rights
"SBC Communications has agreed to pay $1.06 million for the naming rights to the Ohio State-Michigan football game for the next two years," calling it the SBC Michigan-Ohio State Classic.
You see, my Darling Wife, my idea of Pepsi sponsoring our church so that it would be called "Pepsi presents St. Nicholas Catholic Church" is not too far off!!!
