Norwegians Confused by Bush Salute

I guess "Hook'em Horns" has a different meaning in Norway.

Speaking of the inauguration, Jimmy Carter's cost $3 million. The DC security bill for this one alone ran $17 mill with the total cost, most of it privately financed, at about $50 mill. It's tacky to be celebrating so publicly and in such a gaudy style while American soldiers are dying in the streets of Baghdad.

I-80 crash claims UNL student's life

Tragic story of 21 year old Derek Keiper who "would do anything for anybody. He was really funny, extremely intelligent." Derek wrote the following for the Daily Nebraskan last September:
"It is my choice what type of safety precautions I take. There seems to be a die-hard group of non-wearers out there who simply do not wish to buckle up no matter what the government does. I belong to this group."
Derek died after being tossed out of the back seat of a Ford Explorer in an early morning accident on icy Interstate 80.

Too many trailers? Conn. lawmaker wants movie start times published

My Darling Wife and I see a fair amount of movies per year. I like movie previews, and hate the product ads as much as anyone but I totally disagree with this. Our country has enough laws; we don't need one about movie starting times. Stop whining and just show up a few minutes later.

Our favorite film last year, btw, was Sideways.
