Invasion of the Pod People
Nice review of Al Gore's new TV network Current. I've seen it. It's made up of 8 minute audio podcasts. I suppose some might be interesting, but who really cares about some New Mexican dude's passion to climb cliffs? And, how did this get on the air anyway? Can anyone get a network together? How did Gore pull this off? Why would anyone fund this self-vanity stuff, and how do I get my hands on that kind of money? I have an idea for a network, btw....I'd call it Edtv.

Boston airport tries to kill free Wi-Fi node
I can understand Logan officials claiming that Wi-Fi is a security risk. There are fears that explosives might be developed to work via some sort of internet signal, akin to the cell-phone signals that set off the London explosions. But, wait a minute....they are already running a $7.95/month online service that clears over a mill a year? And the only place Continental is offering the free service is in its President's Lounge? So, you can pay for online anywhere in the airport, but free online is only available in the President's Lounge? And that makes the free service a security risk?
Morons.

CNN Suspends Novak After He Walks Off Set

Thomas Friedman: Calling All Luddites
Hey, I'd vote for Friedman. We pay Nextel $40/month, yet have no home service. You have to stand in our backyard to get Nextell to work. CIngular works in the house, sort of. It doesn't work in teh basement. I haven't tried the other services, but neighbors tell me they are just as bad.

Kim Jong-Il Hailed as Superhero
Yeah, yeah, and Mao swam the Yangtze in record times and Stalin was hung like a horse. When you start hearing crap like this it's time to start worrying. You're dealing with a nut.

Ah, but what is the mortality rate? I can't tell you the number of blogs I've run across that haven't been updated in the past 18 months.

Apple introduces the Mighty Mouse
I bet new son-in-law Steve H probably doesn't want to hear anything these dats about Apple. His less-than-one year old Mac totally crashed last week and he lost everything: wedding photos, programs and honeymoon photos from Ireland. His advice to me? "Back up now!" Well, Steve, I bought the DVD's...now all I have to do is start burning.

I hate this S.O.B
This is my first entry. I hate this guy so much I asked to be able to post just so I could slam this guy. Mary and I are teachers. This nut claims to be an educator who now is helping other teachers to be "very, very, very, successful." This nut-job perpetuates the idea that teaching is about stupid cartoon cut-outs, answering the questions at the back of a textbook, tracing your hand to make a turkey and covering your classroom with enough clip-art bullshit to choke a horse.
Mary and I had to endure Harry Wong's video collection at the start of the schoolyear last August. It cost $700 for the videos and $300 for all the books the principal bought for the teachers. I would say more about it, but remembering this colossal waste of time has filled me with dread and now I must lay down.

ICE your cell phone today!
ICE (In Case of Emergency) makes it easier for crisis workers to find the best next-of-kin contact via your cell phone if something happens to you. A pity it took the London bombings for the idea to catch on, but better late than never.
