Marc Almond pays tribute to Gene Pitney

Told our 12 year old son, Mike, yesterday that "the man who sang '24 Hours to Tulsa' died." "Good," Mikey cracked back, "that's the worse song in the world. What a jerk. And when you think about it, every place in the Continental US is 24 hours from Tulsa." I told him to go easy on Gene. He may have been a victim of circumstance. After all, "it isn't very pretty what a town without a pity can do."
